You know the saying “Too many cooks in the kitchen” or “Too many chefs spoil the soup” ? This new gadget from Kenwood kicks both of those statements right in the teeth.
Introducing the Kenwood Cooking Chef, the first kitchen appliance to combine the tedious work of preparation and induction cooking. Kenwood, known worldwide for their quality kitchen appliances has done it again. The Cooking Chef is an ingenious combination of an 1100W induction hot plate and a 1500W stand mixer allowing foods to be simultaneously cooked and stirred. The hot plate located in the 1.7 gallon mixing bowl can cook food at 68-284 degrees Fahrenheit. Which is an awesome time saver when a chef finds themselves having to prepare a number of dishes at the same time.
But a sweet piece of kitchen tech like this wouldn’t be complete without some awesome attachments. For all your chopping and dicing needs, there’s the included food processor attachment. And with this gadget’s 8 separate speed, pulsing has to be a sight to behold. There’s also a blender, steamer basket, power whisk, there’s even an ice cream maker. Check out the site, there’s a nice little collection of high-powered doodads that I would love to see in action on this thing. I personally want to get my hands on the Multi Food Grinder
To keep things safe, Kenwood has included a series of error codes. E:01, for example means that someone is trying to start the mixer and the mixing attachment isn’t in its proper position, in the bowl. E:03 means the heat shield isn’t in the proper place while E:10 signals a possible overheat problem. Thankfully, if you see any of these messages, the device won’t power up. There’s also safety measures on the mixing bowl including splashguard, head lift, outlet covers and heating function.
But this wouldn’t be a truly high-tech gadget without a tricked out control panel. The Cooking Chef has an LCD display that can be switched to show the timer or the temperature. This is also where those pesky error messages are going to pop up if you’re being careless in your food preparation. There’s a nice shiny knob for stir setting and speed control along with mixing speed.
The Cooking Chef is currently a United Kingdom-exclusive, but I can’t imagine Kenwood not bringing this guaranteed culinary cash cow stateside in the near future. And when it crosses the pond, I definitely want to be on line to pick one up.
How about you? Would you add Kenwood’s Cooking Chef to your cache of cool kitchen appliances? Let us know in the comments section.
