The Internet’s weight is something we never thought we would talk about but it’s come up, so why not mention it? A few days ago, some guys down at CNET UK decided that it would be interesting if they measured the weight of the Internet so they set out on a mission to calculate every Internet connected device in the world (laptops, phones, netbooks) and how many webpages each of them visits. In the end, after a mess of mathematical theories and equations, they came to a conclusion that the Internet weighed 498,438,559,990 kilograms.

Their experiment is not really clear and didn’t explain how gadget weight was converted into the Internet’s weight, but who am I to question? I didn’t do this experiment. For those of you that have some serious time on your hands, you can double check to make sure their calculations are correct. As for I, I’ll just accept whatever information I recieved, I’m horrible in math and could never figure out those intense equations. especially with something as big as the Internet.
