VADO quietly creeped into the holiday gadget line-up, plopped in their new camera and left as quietly as they came. Yep, that’s what they did, they quietly released the 3rd generation VADO HD Pocket Recorder. The device got a slight facelift, with more curved features, a generous screen, and a nicely placed lens at the head of the camera, resembling that of a Blackberry. The 3rd gen device was also upgraded with low light video recording and manual exposure adjustment, support for an external stereo microphone along with a headphone output, new motion detection mode, 4GB of space, ability to take HD quality still photos and allows users to shoot widescreen in 720p HD, or take 7,000 still photos.

Now, the device also has easier to use sync software for both Mac (Mac OS X 10.4 or later) and PC. Both come with Creative VADO’s Central Software. While including these great new features, VADO also retains some of the classic features like uploading straight to the web, allowing uploads to YouTube, Photobucket, Box.net, Facebook or KinKas. This is a great way for VADO to get back in the game after Flip’s latest advertisment’s on TV, and the iPod Nano’s invasion in the Pocket Video market.
