Printers are clunky. No matter how streamlined companies try to make them, printers still take up a nice chunk of space in any setting. And to add insult to injury, the noise is almost as irritating as nails on a chalkboard. Like it or not, you have to suck it up if you constantly have to print out documents. Until the world goes totally paperless that big, bulky piece of tech is here to stay, lording over our workspace with a smugness that can only be described as repugnant. Or is it? More »

Thanks to Activision, you’ve been able to play guitar on your Nintendo DS. And now thanks to the latest iteration of Guitar Hero for the DS Band Hero, you can even play drums and do vocals. But what about the keyboard? Don’t you ever want to have the chance to rock out Elton John-style (Boas and wacky shades, are optional of course)? More »
Looks like The Beatles are finally ready to share their Apple with everyone…execpt Apple Inc. Yes folks, after all the bitter back and forth over copyright infringement complete with subsequent make up session/settlement and those persistent rumors of The Fab Four finally coming to iTunes, Apple Corps went left and decided to release their catalog themselves. If you listen really hard, you can probably hear Steve Jobs gnashing his teeth, listening to “Yesterday” on repeat, silently weeping in a corner somewhere. More »
When you’re having a bad day, nothing seems to light it up, here’s something that actually can. Disregard the corny joke. The illuminated Duct Tape is the newest thing for designer lighting in the home. This new duct tape, although still in its experimental stages, is great for adding a stylish touch to that broken baseball bat or perhaps your car’s bumper (Who needs bumper stickers when you could have this?). AT&T has been offended and its fighting back with filed complaint…against Verizon. Why am I not surprised? It was only a matter of time before AT&T saw the “There’s a map for that” ad and figured out that Verizon was ridiculing their iPhone inspired tag line. Earlier this evening, Engadget reported that the complaint asks for an injunction that prevents Verizon from presenting the blank areas in AT&T’s “map” as areas with no coverage (which is somewhat true). The Swedish government is following close behind Finland, promising its citizens that they will provide broadband Internet to all. Sweden’s IT-Ministry promised the citizens that 90% of the homes in Sweden will have access to 100mbit/s broadband connection to 2020. Now, while that sounds like a long time away, it is progress, more than the American government would do for its citizens. More »
Okay, I’m not usually this much of a hater…scratch that, yes I am. With that said, the new TwitterPeek seems like a huge exercise in WTF. According to CNet, the device, which launched today is the first gadget solely dedicated to tweeting. Translation: There’s no email, no texting, no web browser — just tweeting. More »
The Toyota Tacoma Concept is getting redesigned to fit the average college student’s life, complete with Xbox 360 Elites, 24 inch LCD’s and even an energy drink holder. Could this be the ultimate place to study? We would like to think so. Each side of the four door truck is replaced with two seats for your closest buddies to come and play Xbox 360 while your designated driver sits upfront, away from all of the fun. More »
China Unicom is sinking into a pool of customer complaints and WiFi functionality. Reuters reported this morning that China Unicom has signed up only 5,000 users since their launch last week. Despite the lack of WiFi and the poor usability of the device overseas, Chairman Chang Xiobing still seems enthusiastic about getting it out to more customers with the launch of its 3G network, which has quickly picked up 1 million customers. Sometimes an idea is just ahead of its time and sometimes…it’s just crap. According to Engadget, the folks over at Paramount Pictures and Kingston Technology are hoping that upcoming venture is the former and not the latter. The two are teaming up to offer full length movies on flash drives.
The initial fruit of this partnership is a 4GB Kingston DataTraveler drive featuring “Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen” which is currently available for $29.99. Now the movie doesn’t take up the entire drive, but it’s unclear as to how much space remains for actual storage. And while this techie mash-up makes since on paper, it hasn’t taken off in previous iterations. Sony gave it a shot with the PSP and SanDisk crashed and burned with the ill-fated Sansa Clip and its microSD-based Slot Music. More »
