Christmas time is joyous occasion for everyone, especially gamers because of all the consoles and games they’ll recieve as presents but here is one thing no one has ever seen, gaming ornaments. That’s right, they are ornaments in the shape of different gaming objects that you can hang on your Christmas tree as a decoration. Some of the ornaments are of things like an N64 controller, PS3 controller, and the Wii remote. More »

Was anyone surprised by the results from the Call Of Duty sales results? It was reported that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 brought in $3 billion dollars in sales for Activision. The game has hit a new benchmark in terms of sales for a video game, as well as number of copies sold. It hasn’t even been a full month and the game has broken all kinds of records. More »

The iPhone has many many clones around the world, but I’ve never seen one that steals app design, back cover design, and even adds a full fledged QWERTY keyboard. Now, this is one cool iPhone clone. Dubbed with a horrible name, the Cooli902, the “fat” iPhone clone carries a full slide-out keyboard, dual cameras, Java support, WiFi, and an analog TV tuner (Sorry, US residents, we’ve gone digital). So, this clone pretty much carries all of the features that the iPhone doesn’t have yet, excluding WiFi capabilities. The Cooli902 can play many file types, from standard MP3 to, MP4, 3GP and AVI video files. More »

So I only thought Black Friday deals could happen in stores like Wal-mart, Best Buy, Newegg, or places like that…but I was wrong! This year, Gameloft, a big game app maker in the Apple App store world, has quite a few of its games that are normally pricey, all for less than a dollar! If you’re like me and never buy anything more than 3$ or so, you’ll know what I mean by a Gameloft game. They have the reputation of always starting at $9.99, ending up at $4.99, and never budging. Gameloft extends its holiday More »

Nokia is fighting back against it’s competitors with their latest release, the Nokia X6. Audiophiles are going to be really happy because the X6s touchscreen capabilities and interface make music playing a breeze. Beating out the 5800, the new X6 provides quite the user experience with it’s newly redesigned software and touchscreen capabilities. When the X6 is released, it is expected to come with a slew of features, including a 5 megapixel camera, 32 GB internal memory, an Internet browser, WiFi, HSDPA, and a 3.2 inch screen. More »

I’ve always been a proponent of the latest technology and am usually one of the first to buy a gadget when it’s first released. It’s just how I am and believe that some gadgets make things easier for us. In the past few years, smartphones have been that gadget. While many are still getting used to using a smartphone (my parents and cousins still don’t know how to use one), they’re extremely useful once you get the hang of it.

Take for example the new influx of apps across every smartphone operating system. Apps are designed to make the user experience easier and lately it seems like it’s made it so easy, using the version on my computer’s browser has become confusing.

The one app I’m going to use as an example is the new Facebook app for the iPhone, Android and other platforms (it sucks on WebOS but that’s another story). The app is extremely simple to use and gets you the info you want right away, without multiple clicks. It’s become so easy to use, I’ve preferred the Facebook app on my iPhone over the website on my browser. Here’s why. More »

Today is Black Friday and many retailers are slashing prices down to the cheapest they can go. Apple was the retailer that got the most attention when it slashed prices because of their usual high priced products. Apple’s Black Friday sales started yesterday in Australia and New Zealand, and today in the U.S. The discounts are similiar to last year with the price cuts in the 4-10% range. More »

The Ebay Mobile app has been on the iPhone for a while now, the latest manufacturer to get the mobile app is Blackberry’s App World. The App was released for business users who also wanted their Ebay purchases integrated in with the rest of their phones, so they can check it on the go. It is a full feature application that is designed to accept PayPal payments. More »

With the holidays coming up, and Black Friday right around the corner, many are still looking for gift ideas for this Christmas and it’s never too late to get started. One of the gadgets this year that has been talked about a lot are eReaders. That sector is getting more crowded and competitive with Barnes & Nobles recently reporting they’ve sold out all of their Nooks. To weed out all the problem, we’ve got a round up of the best eReaders on the market and what their best features are. More »

Lasers are all the buzz these days and aside from light shows and weapons, they have actually come to use as a safety “net”. Thanks to a brilliant concept designed by Hanyoung Lee, pedestrians can now cross the street without having to worry about cars running a red light, or getting hit for that matter. The idea of the concept is to set up laser towers on either sides of the crosswalk so that a laser wall is projected in front of drivers when the light turns red. When the lights turn green again, the lasers will disappear and will tell pedestrians to wait on either side until the light turns red. More »

Yesterday, the New York Times ran an article that may end up being a watershed moment in online history. According to the report, Microsoft is hoping to create an alliance with News Corp, one of the biggest news conglomerates in the world, to remove news links from Google and bring them over to Bing.

Essentially it’ll make Bing the only search engine to offer any news stories from News Corp sites. The story highlights a few advantages and disadvantages of the move from the perspective of Rupert Murdoch, who controls News Corp, Google and Microsoft. We break them down for you. More »

Looks like Psystar, the company that was making Apple clones aka “Hackintoshes” may no longer be around. According to a report by Apple Insider, a motion hearing has been set for December 14th, to decide the fate of Psystar. All signs point to an Apple victory.

While this is a victory for Apple, it may be a loss for consumers. Those looking for a cheaper version of Apple’s OS X no longer have the option to buy a Psystar machine or get software to install Mac OS X on hardware other than Apple’s. While no one is really sure how many “Hackintosh” models Pystar sold, they still made news in the tech world for standing up to Apple and trying to change the current Apple model, bundled software with only their hardware. Every time I mention an Apple product to someone, I get labeled an Apple fanboy. Funny thing is while I like Apples products, I’d be the first one to agree with the limit on Apple products and Apple’s controlling ways. I like the products because they work with the least amount of problems.

The iPhone isn’t the greatest smartphone in the world but it’s the one that works well for me. Same thing with my iMac and MacBook Air. I’m loyal to the apple brand not because I think everything they throw out there is the beat thing in the world but because the brand has worked well for me in the past and continues to work well for me now.

Is there a gadget brand that you are loyal to? If so, why are you loyal to them?

Although Alexa already mentioned this new piece of hardware, I again wanted to draw attention to something that is both a blessing and a curse to the world of gaming. 1up.com has posted a gallery of them comparing the new Nintendo DSi XL to other portable devices. More »
