NEC is famous for its retro gaming controllers but now they’ve come out with something that is likely to be a big hit in the tech world. Just yesterday, NEC opened the lid on their latest project, the first remote control that runs without batteries. Working alongside Soundpower Corp., NEC has managed to create a vibration based power generating device, built into the remote. The power generating device is connected to a microcomputer and a power supply controller which gets the circuits close enough to generate a small amount of power on even the slightest amount of electricity. Google is readying itself for world domination. Even before their Android OS came out, there were rumors that Google was looking into their own smartphone, but we soon learned that Google wasn’t interested in hardware, until now. There have been reports from multiple sources that Google is looking into creating their own smartphone, both hardware and software, and this time it’s actually true. While playing a big role in the creation of the DROID, Google still felt that the hardware design, and many of the application designs were out of their hands, so they decided to create their own device, bringing the full Android Platform upfront. I’m not much of a gambler. When I’m in Atlantic City the most I play are the slot machines, and the penny ones at that and that’s only so I can score free drinks.
