Sony is gaining some media attention with their latest decision to film the FIFA World Cup in Johannesburg, and since this is a big event internationally, what better way is there to watch it in HD, right? Well, Sony has decided to do you one better and make the entire World Cup play in 3D. You can imagine just how big something like this really is. No sporting event has ever been shot in 3D, nothing as big as a World Cup.
Sony says that they will release multiple 3D compatible products before June 11, when the FIFA World Cup Turnament begins. Some of these products will include a new Sony 3D TV which will allow users to watch anything aired in 3D right in their homes. Perhaps, Sony Entertainment will begin releasing movies in 3D, allowing users to get the best use of their 3DTVs. Some of these products to be introduced by Sony may be shown before June in the 2010 CES show in January.
