As if Twitter wasn’t popular enough, now it’s reaching a whole new crowd of people, Toddlers. That’s right folks, toddlers. Why they would need a social networking site at this age is beyond me but I guess some parents think it’s necessary. This social networking device is called a Twoddler and allows toddlers to view pictures and messages while the parents are away, so the toddler doesn’t miss them too much.
The device has some buttons and rolling balls on it that when pressed, displays pre-loaded messages and pictures that the parents upload. It also won the INCA Award 09 which surprised me, because I couldn’t think of anyone who thought this was a good device to give to their kids. Twoddler says that the device was designed to create a nonverbal communication between kids through a combination of hardware and software. The Twoddler seems like a serious waste of money and something that is likely to turn kids into a social hermit. Check out the video of the Twoddler in use.
