Good sound comes from the quality of the speakers, right? Wrong. In this case, the good sound comes from the incredibly expensive speakers and subwoofer. The new McIntosh MXA60 Integrated Audio System costs a whopping $7,500, but don’t worry, this is from the same company that created the $250,000 McIntosh Reference System. The McIntosh MXA60 has a 75 watt per channel amplifier, a CD/SACD/MP3 player, vacuum tube preamplifier, an AM/FM/RBDS Tuner, and 2-way bass reflex custom loudspeakers.

All of this fits into the rather tough confines of solid metal with anodized aluminum accents and backlit glass faceplates. Along the front is the Peak Reading Wattmeters which keep track of how many watts your speakers are consuming, just so your party doesn’t lose control and destroy your precious purchase. With a price in the $7,000 range, the speakers better sound amazing, and last an entire lifetime.
