Starting mid-January 2010, 11,000 McDonald’s restaurants across the nation will partner up with AT&T to provide loiterers free WiFi. Apparently, this is their solution to getting McDonald’s loiterers to purchase food while loitering. Bored teenagers will now have the option to scarf down fries in between Facebook status updates. Personally, I don’t think this really does much to solve all of the obesity epidemic accusations that Mickey Dees has faced in the past. How about free gym memberships? Or…bigger playgrounds?

Thoughts?

Find out if your local McDonald’s will be a WiFi hotspot here.
