With the new trend emerging that is telling people to “go green,” companies all over the world are beginning to develop new technologies that allow their consumers to do exactly that. Big time cell phone company Motorola has just released their new “green” phone called the MOTO W233 renew. According to the Motorola site:

Motorola MOTO W233 Renew is the first certified Carbonfree cell phone on the market. Through an alliance with Carbonfund.org, Motorola offsets the amount of energy required to manufacture, distribute and operate the phone.

The MOTO W233 renew boasts a 100% recyclable housing that contains plastics from recycled water bottles. Here are some additional tech specs on this phone:
- 1.6″ 128×128 pixel display
- 2.93 oz
- Dual Band GSM 850/1900
- MP3 enabled
- up to 9 hours talk time and 18 days standby time
- SMS and MMS
- GPRS Class 10
- Mini USB
- 2.5 mm jack
- Crystal Talk technology
- Up to 500 entries in phone book
- Up to 2GB removable memory

The phone runs for a retail price of $49.99 and it looks like T-Mobile already has it’s hands on this phone. You can purchase the phone at the Motorola Store website.

What do you guys think? Not really feeling the lime greenish color, but I’m totally digging the overall environmentally friendly concept of it.
