Among PC geeks, LCD jargon is now pretty much common knowledge, but most lay-folks still do not know the distinction between “LCD” and “LED.” Here is a basic beginner’s guide on the fundamentals of LCD technology. Part one is an explanation of what the numbers that manufacturers publish actually mean: More »

From Ningin: Ninginers! As of today, think of me not as Jinra, Mother Ningin, but as Queen Jinranidas. Looming ahead in the not-so-distant horizon of 2010 is a grand sporting event of epic proportions. For an event as grand as this, I call upon you to prepare for glory! From Jan. 2 to 4, Ningin will host the birth of the first official Mixr League Gaming (MLG) Tournament. Teams that compete in the MLG are formed of both Mixr staff and community members based on cyberathletic ability in flash games. More »

2009 served up plenty of pleasant surprises but also head-shaking disappointments too. Here is my top five epic fails of the year, led by the lowering of sonic fidelity, some computing complaints, Blu-Ray failures, gaming gaffs, and OLED delays. More »

For anyone living in New York City in need of an iPhone right this instant, as in…right now, you’re out of luck. If you’re trying to get it from AT&T online, at least. According to Engadget, AT&T is not offering any reasons why they’re not selling the iPhone online. Aside from telling people the iPhone’s disappearance from AT&T online is the result of credit card fraud causing a ban on online sales, customer service reps aren’t being much of a help. More »

From Ningin: I hope you’ve gained some insight from my PART I of my PSP Dissidia bundle review, so this is the final part conclusion to the blog set. More »

From Ningin: Alas, my very first portable gaming system. Although I’ve been playing games since 1984, I never was fortunate enough back then to get a regular black and white Gameboy, especially not the Neo Geo pocket or Atari Lynx. Don’t know what these things are? If you don’t that’s fine, just keep it to yourself and don’t ask me what Moses was like during his teens. More »

No word on how much or when Samsung will release their 14MP Digital CL80 Camera, but I have to say, it’s pretty sexy. Some of the features it boasts are a 31mm Wide Angle Lens, 14 Megapixels & 7x Optical Zoom along with an AMOLED screen and WiFi capability. While it does indeed sound sexy, it’s not the first AMOLED, WiFi capable digicam. Also, is WiFi capability all that necessary in cameras? More »

As a woman, I love dresses. Like, a lot. Daan Roosegaarde, V2 Lab, and Maartje Dijkstra’s Intimacy dress however, is one dress I would not like to own. For one, all it takes is a “magic” ball containing a radio frequency tag to come close to the dress in order for it to start becoming transparent. The radio frequency tag gets detected by circuitry in the dress’ collar. More »

So many faces, so little time ya know? Luckily Exemode’s P15 digital frame key holder addresses my problem by storing at least 8MB or up to 52 photos. More »
