At a recent company event, employees received a free Nexus One device. It has been rumored for quite awhile that Google has been planning on releasing its own phone; the Google phone. “Katie Watson, a Google representative, said on Sunday that the company has confirmed nothing about its plans for the Nexus One, described as a “dogfooding” experiment for internal testing by the company in a blog post Saturday” (CNN.com). From Rekuru: Are you worried that your earphones are lackluster and dreary? Do you wish your headset would get off the couch and express itself more? Now your worries can slip away as easily as a cartoon character on a banana peel! Indeed, bananas, Mickey Mouse, and sushi seem to be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to eccentric earphones. Popping up all over the market are unique and sometimes downright silly novelty gear for your music-listening arsenal. More »

As a college student, I rarely get a chance to wander around and observe people, but at a trip to the mall a couple weeks ago, I saw some slightly unsettling things. As I was minding my own business, just browsing through some jeans, all of a sudden I start hearing a very loud cell phone conversation from across the store. Walking over to investigate and expecting to find an obnoxious teenager, I instead find a girl that couldn’t have been over the age of seven. More »

As a non-Trekkie, I have to say that I’m rather impressed by Kayla Kromer’s Millenium Falcon bed. It’s got starfield projection, working headlights AND hidden compartments. Being a circle-shaped bed, this basically means that it’s perfect for Trekkie action — you know what I mean. Or, if you were a Trekkie looking to lose your virginity, I think this would set the perfect mood for that. Nothing says living long and prosperous like a Star Trek Millenium Falcon bed! More »

From Ningin: It’s true, Christmas did arrive earlier than usual this year with the Mixr Holiday Rewards giveaway of the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. Recently, we’ve decided that the early arrival of Christmas just isn’t enough for our beloved users. In light of that decision, Mixr is officially extending the Mixr Holiday Rewards deadline to Dec. 31. That’s right, you now have more time to enter to win a Nintendo Wii or Xbox 360! More »

There are many things in life that I don’t understand and the new Sony Ericsson Xperia phone is one of them. Available online via Saks Fifth Avenue for a hefty price of $990, the Xperia phone is the world’s first mobile phone with a transparent liquid crystal LCD screen, offering ground-breaking miniaturization technology in the battery, memory card and antenna. Sure this might sound pretty and all kinds of fancy, but the two biggest selling points of this phone don’t really justify the $990 that it costs. More »

From Girlybubble: I feel like it’s slowly becoming my duty to inform people of the cute things they shouldn’t be eating because some sort of poisoning might result. Take Japan’s latest Docomo Q-pot Melting Chocolate phone. If the Docomo Q-pot phones had (cute chocolate) feet, it’d kick the LG Chocolate in the ass. It literally looks like a bar of chocolate! Although Q-pot is best known for its food-inspired accessories, you can’t actually eat them — the human digestive system isn’t capable of digesting. More »

Why bother with actually chilling your wine by sticking it in the freezer or an ice pail when you can use an instant wine chiller? The instant wine chiller is perfect for people who plan on throwing a lot of parties this season. The instant wine chiller is basically an extra spout that you stick to your wine bottle. The spout acts something like a thermos so that whenever wine is passed through, it automatically comes out chilled. More »

Put ‘em up. Your wrists, I mean. Raise those wrists high and proud. They are now your future energy source for the gadgets you most dearly love and most often have to recharge. The Brando USB wristband charger, I am so convinced, was made for people like me. People who constantly misplace cell phone chargers, or anything portable that requires recharging. More »
Good sound comes from the quality of the speakers, right? Wrong. In this case, the good sound comes from the incredibly expensive speakers and subwoofer. The new McIntosh MXA60 Integrated Audio System costs a whopping $7,500, but don’t worry, this is from the same company that created the $250,000 McIntosh Reference System. The McIntosh MXA60 has a 75 watt per channel amplifier, a CD/SACD/MP3 player, vacuum tube preamplifier, an AM/FM/RBDS Tuner, and 2-way bass reflex custom loudspeakers. More »
Can Apple be the savior for the publishing industry like they have been trying for the music industry? According to a report on CNET, Oppenheimer’s analyst Yair Reiner, says that Apple is pitching their new tablet device to publishers.
If these rumors are true then Apple can change the landscape for publishers, very similar to what they did with the App store and continuing to do with music. Currently publishers have a 50/50 split with Amazon for ebooks sold on the Kindle. Apple is planning to give publishers a 70% of that cut, making their proposal much more attractive. More »

From Ningin: As part of the ongoing preview on CrazySingleLife, we’re going to introduce some of the dating stars before the site launches. Each dater on CSL will have an alias derived from a color. They also have to write two posts before they start dating, an introduction post and a Mr./Mrs. Right post. The introduction post is meant as a description of themselves, but not like height, age, occupation. It’s more a window into their soul and the journey that their heart has been on. The second post is an open letter to the future Mr./Mrs. Right so that he or she will know to come calling on our daters.
The following except is from the introductory letter of Steel, one of the two male bloggers for CSL. On Monday, you met Tenne, yesterday you met Cerulean and tomorrow you’ll meet them all. Enjoy! More »

There’s something about an iPod that just screams simplicity. Well, thanks to the new iClassic app in the Cydia App Store (unfortunately, the Apple App store doesn’t have it), you can now revisit the good old days of the iPod, right on your iPhone or iPod Touch. What the app does is transform your entire music and video library into a click wheel format. Don’t worry, when you click iPod, it’s all there, all iClassic does is make a copy of your media files into it’s own app. More »
