Aside from 3D television, the third generation “e-readers” are also a huge topic of interest. Like their television counterparts, the competition for the best e-reader out there is tough. Aside from the preexisting Amazon Kindle and the Sony Reader, other companies are pumping out their own versions of readers, hoping to flatten the competition. Upcoming readers include the Barnes & Noble Nook, the Plastic Logic Que, the Spring Design Alex, LG’s solar e-reader, and the Hearst Skiff Reader.
All of these devices seem like more of the same with a few nuances. It is these nuances, of course, that will determine which reader will ultimately reign supreme. Will it be the expansive e-library of the Nook? The e-newspaper innovation of the Que? The dual touch screens of the Alex? The solar-powered e-reader by LG? or will it be the unique construction of the flexible Skiff? Only time will tell, and only, you, the consumer can decide.
