One of the most anticipated things to be revealed at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas was a wide array of tablet PCs. Manufacturers did not disappoint. CES came with a showing of some of the latest concept models for tablet PCs. Watch out, netbooks, because here comes some competition!

Here’s a summary of some of the upcoming tablets:

1. HP Multitouch Tablet
Running Windows 7, this unnamed tablet by HP is set to release mid-2010 for under $500. It doesn’t really have any remarkable bells or whistles, but it’s sure to set a “standard” for tablet PCs. This is predicted to appeal to average consumers who are looking for portability over performance.

2. Lenovo Ideapad U1 Hybrid Notebook/Tablet

The Ideapad is set to hit stores on June 1st for less than $1000. The unique notebook has a detachable screen that allows for technology at home or on the go.

3. Sony Dash Mobile Internet Device
While having no storage space on it, the Sony Dash is designed for a pure internet experience on the go: update Facebook, check out Youtube, or listening to music via an external device. Do it all with the Sony Dash.

4. Notion Ink Adam Smartpad
Predicted to run for about $400 whenever it releases, the Adam runs on the Android OS. It functions as both an e-reader and pseudo-PC. The Adam’s battery life is expected to be superb compared to many of the other tablets being released this year.

5. Archos 9 PCTablet
This device actually debuted back in mid-2009 but isn’t expected to become available until later this year. Many are questioning whether this device will be able to keep up with the rest, considering its early debut.
