As you probably know, Google is now the biggest name in technology. Few other corporate entities have managed to wriggle their ways into the urban dictionary like Google has. Sure, “Tweet” have become a verb too, but it has always been a real word, now merely redefined. Do you really “Yahoo?” I do not. Here is my list of goals for Google to achieve in its way to global rule:

Our King Has a Face: yes, Eric Schmidt has made the cover of Time magazine, but he has nowhere close to the profile or the recognition of Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. Every regime needs a face. America has Obama; zen computing has Jobs, but who actually thinks of Eric Schmidt when they Google? If Mr. Schmidt is not up for the task, then hire Darth Vader.

A Google Tidal Wave to Crush Facebook: has Google always intended Wave as an alternative to Facebook? If Google can clean, shine, and perfect Wave, then I can definitely imagine a world without Facebook. Picture soccer parents sending Waves to organize carpools, snacks, and entertainment. Envision small businesses using Wave as a bulletin board for ideas and announcements, and finally, think of how useful Wave, operating in real time, could be for smaller social networks.

Chrome OS to Replace Windows & OS X: although Linux already does most of what Chrome promises, it does not have the marketing power to dominate. Only a small percentage of computer users operate Linux exclusively, but Google can change this landscape completely and perhaps take the battle to Microsoft and Apple. Everything that Google has - Wave, Gmail, Google Maps, etc. - can be fueled to run best on Chrome OS.

Nexus One as King of the Smartphone Hill : currently, there is no other smartphone with better specifications than the Nexus One. Its price is even justifiable for many. As second and third versions of Google’s phone appear, more and more competitors should fall by the wayside.

Android to Bury Symbian, Windows Mobile, iPhone, and Blackberry: Android is already doing what Chrome hopes to do: carve a big slice out of the established operating system pie. If Google manages to take majority shares of the OS markets, then there is no stopping its momentum.

Hardware for Its Software: Google will have its complete control of internet searching, its own operating system, a smartphone OS, Gmail, Wave, and who knows what other kinds of software, so why stop there? Conquer the side of the world that even Microsoft has not: hardware. Much of what Google produces is free and open source, but hardware brings in hard cash. Rumors are that a Google netbook/tablet is on its way.

World Domination: control social networking? Check. Rule smartphones? Done. Thrash Windows and OS X? Accomplished. Prepare your crown, emperor Google, for your throne awaits.

I don’t think that Google really has plans to take down Microsoft or Apple with the Chrome OS, which is more for very basic computing. This entire article is more or less meant to humorous more than anything else, but I do believe that Google will win the smartphone OS battle.

Chrome OS cannot win.. And Google Wave is too confusing for most people — it sure stumped me! Nexus.. eh
I don’t know :-S
