Nowadays, it seems like more and more people are beginning to step away from their desktops and venture into the world of laptops. People are beginning to realize that technology can truly be “on the go” and are taking advantage of the portability that some of these devices can offer them. One such device, recently revealed by Sony at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, is the Sony VAIO W series notebook.
This “get up and go” notebook from Sony claims to be not only extremely fast and portable, but also eco-friendly. 20% of the actual notebook is made from recycled and crushed DVDs and CDs. This, of course, does not take away from the design of the notebook, as Sony always has a way with pleasuring the aesthetic values of the masses. The 76 page manual has also been turned into an e-manual in order to conserve paper. In addition, the traditional “box” packaging of computers is abandoned, as the VAIO W notebook comes packaged in a recycled, reusable bag.
Here are the specs:
- Intel® Atom™ processor N450 (1.66GHz)
- 1GB max RAM
- 250GB hard drive
- 8 hours max battery life
- 10.1″ screen
- 2.96 lbs
The VAIO W series currently comes in three colors: Berry Pink, Navy Blue, and Sugar White. I will leave it to one of the Sony representatives to sum things up. See more on the VAIO W series at the Sony Style website.
