Rarely does a big company allow its opponents to shine for too long without a response. While the Nexus One has appropriated most headlines lately, Apple is readying its counter-punch. Korea Times has an article, which claims that an unnamed high ranking official of the South Korean iPhone distributor KoreaTelecom has stated that a 4G version of the iPhone is scheduled for an April release. Nowadays, it seems like more and more people are beginning to step away from their desktops and venture into the world of laptops. People are beginning to realize that technology can truly be “on the go” and are taking advantage of the portability that some of these devices can offer them. One such device, recently revealed by Sony at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, is the Sony VAIO W series notebook. More »

As cool and stylish as Sony may make these 3D glasses look, there is a predetermined limit to how slick you can actually look while donning any sort of “hardware” on your face. The TCL Corporation may have come up with a solution to those of you wary of becoming “four eyes” every night when watching TV. More »

From Flauntme: I could open this post with something cute like, “Ever wanted to see what you’d look like with a smaller nose? There’s an app for that!”, but I won’t because there is nothing cute about this iPhone application. In fact, it sort of borders on insanity. iSurgeon allows you to take photos of yourself, family and friends and then alter your image to see what you’d look like with plastic surgery! Nice!

You can choose from four procedures: tummy tuck, nose job, breast augmentation or gluteal augmentation (aka butt lift). Take a look at the video demonstration (and hear the disgustingly realistic sound effects) of the application after the cut. More »

I must say, out of all the amazing items seen at the Consumer Electronics Show this year, this one really caught my eye. It’s the Toshiba CELL TV. The CELL TV really impressed many people and is sure to be a big item when it hits. The TV has already been introduced in Japan. Here’s a rundown of some of the features it packs: More »

As you probably know, Google is now the biggest name in technology. Few other corporate entities have managed to wriggle their ways into the urban dictionary like Google has. Sure, “Tweet” have become a verb too, but it has always been a real word, now merely redefined. Do you really “Yahoo?” I do not. Here is my list of goals for Google to achieve in its way to global rule: More »

Each year at the Consumer Electronics Show, there is a “battle of the gadgets” to determine the “last gadget standing.” Ten finalists are selected, and the product that gets the most applause is crowned. People that were unable to attend CES had a separate online voting. The highly portable SHOW WX Pico Projector won the online vote, but the device that stole the real show was the Boxee Box. More »

After i4i won a $290 million USD lawsuit against Microsoft last year for infringing on the plaintiff’s patented XML reading capability, judges gave the defendant until today to release a revised version of Office and Word, which now no longer contains Word’s ability to read XML files. More »

From Ningin: The PC vs. Mac issue has been a pretty popular topic in the tech world as of late and let me tell you, it has affected everyone–not just the middle aged dude and Justin Long anymore. The contenders in the argument between PC users and Mac users have gotten younger and younger and finally, it’s gotten to the point where 4 year old Asian girls are throwing the gloves off and engaging in bare-knuckle fisticuffs as well. Well, maybe not quite but still, the fight is getting more intense. More »

The Consumer Electronics Show is like a circus. Some of the stuff you could really go for, and some other stuff you could do without. I’m labeling this concept model by Chinese designer Daizi Zheng a “dud.” Here’s what Zheng had to say about his invention: More »
