If I were Google, here would be my ambitious shortlist of improvements that I would make to Google Wave. Although “the Wave” has immense potential and is particularly useful as a brainstorming tool for business, it could possibly displace Facebook and many other social networking sites. However, before anything this dramatic can happen, Google must make the following amendments: More »

Aside from 3D television, the third generation “e-readers” are also a huge topic of interest. Like their television counterparts, the competition for the best e-reader out there is tough. Aside from the preexisting Amazon Kindle and the Sony Reader, other companies are pumping out their own versions of readers, hoping to flatten the competition. More »

So this is probably trampling on some Wirebot territory, but I am too hyped about this new gadget to let this article pass me by. With the release of Nintendo’s new Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver games for the Nintendo DS, comes a nifty peripheral that is sure to have any Pokemon addict excited (yes, I am a Pokemon NERD) or shed some pounds off of an ambitious trainer. When it comes to social networking sites, I have to admit that I am kind of e-slutty and all over the place. Myspace, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter…you name it and I am pretty much all over it. Since I’m all over the place when it comes to social networking sites, it’s really easy to become so disorganized when it comes to logging into these sites, reading updates, commenting, messaging and friending. It’s all very daunting to even think about. Despite this, my resolution for this year is to be more organized and on top of things in the world of social networking sites. More »

Honestly, I really do not know what to say or think anymore other than, “kids these days…” According to a study by Symantec, the #4 search term for kids under the age of 7 in 2009 was “porn.” More »

From Wirebot:

Just because I’ve been absent from posts for a short period of time, it doesn’t mean that I’ve stopped thinking about my favorite pastime anymore than I did before I jumped off for a bit of a break. I’ve spent days sitting on this crazy topic, and after a pretty interesting article that ran this morning over on CNN, I figured it was time to share this crazy tidbit of information with all of you.

BCI“, or “Brain-Computer Interfaces“, is the name of this wondrous innovation that is steadily bobbing its way out into the mainstream, and not just because of the potential this technology has for the handicapped, but for society in general. More »

Okay, so if you have not figured it out yet, I am a complete Sony junkie. Something about the sleek and sexy “Sony Style” is just irresistible to me. It’s no surprise, then, that I’ve been keeping an eye on the Sony products being showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. Two items that caught my eye were two of the brand new lines of notebooks that were being added to the Sony VAIO line. These are the F and the Y series. More »

“In my 28 years of attending the CES and participating in it and being a part of it and running it for most of that time, I can honestly say there will be more innovation at this show than any one in history,” Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association, said. More »

From Ningin: A big surprise from the Sony and Panasonic team. Each of the two 25GB layers has been refined to 33.4GB per layer. They have been working on a refinement for a while now, as the weakest chain in their technology is NOT their lasers. Why fix the body when you can fix the brain? How does this work, without buying any additional parts? A firmware update (FREE DOWNLOAD) to your blu-ray player or PS3 will tell your lasers to read more precisely and pack data more closely within the same space efficiently. (Improving error check.) The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is truly a haven for the latest, greatest, and hottest trends in technology. The South Korean based company, LG, introduced its latest installment to its flat-screen television line. Measuring in at a little thicker than a poster board, the new LG flat-screen is a third of the width of the previously marketed 23.3 mm model. Although still not beating the Sony 9.9mm flat-screen, LG emphasizes that this TV will sport such new technology as internet connectivity, which follows the new trend that calls for “connected” or “smart” televisions. This particular LG model is expected to be released late 2010.

I am still trying to decide whether that box that it’s being stood up on is actually part of the console or not. My guess is probably not. I would imagine that wall space is limited at CES. If it is, in fact, part of the console, then I predict that LG is going to see very little consumer interest in this product. I mean, who wants a super flat TV mounted on a chunky box? I sure don’t.

Over the past three years alone, I have gone through roughly several dozen computers –although only two of them have been desktops. I have to admit that I have an addiction, and my constantly being connected to the internet feeds my problem. Craigslist is an amazingly useful tool, but it can also be abused. More »
