From Htcyou: HTC had braced itself for a cautious 2010 in terms of revenue; instead, the company is concentrating on overall market share of both Android and Windows Mobile devices. Motorola, on the other hand, is pinning its hopes almost entirely on smartphone sales in America and China. More »

In 2007, the RIAA accused Jammie Thomas-Rasset of illegally pirating 2,000 tracks of music; only 24 of these tracks were went after by the recording companies. After the first ruling, the courts ruled that Ms. Thomas would have to pay $2 million dollars for piracy. More »

Now I know this is going to come off a little braggy, but that’s not my intention whatsoever. The idea is to get angry at the television manufactures, not me. So, here it goes. 2 years ago I got a 46” Samsung LCD for Christmas. Great, right? Well yeah, it was up until this year. This year I’ve ran into a little problem called, your-giant-TV-sucks-now. Sucks may be a bit of an exaggeration, but roll with. My setup consists of a cable box, PS3, Xbox 360, and a WD TV. Can you see my problem yet? Well if you can’t, it’s that I need 4 HDMI inputs and only have 2. Continue after the jump to here me complain some more. More »

Wall Street analysts predict that the iPad will move 4 million units by this year and double that number in 2011. I have five big explanations for why it will be Waterworld and not Avatar, but that list is for tomorrow. Today, I want to examine why the iPad is destined for big things. More »

Is the Apple iPad just an advanced iPod iTouch or Amazon Kindle on steroids? So far, reactions are very mixed in the media and within Apple’s fan-base, but most people who do not own an Apple product are scoffing –and I cannot fault them for their derision. One day after the main show, I feel that entire January 27th event was underwhelming. My favorite part of the proceedings was the introduction, when we got to hear the tail-end of CCR’s spectacular “Rude Awakening.” More »

Art can be disgusting and stomach turning. So long as a piece evokes some emotion, it has achieved its purpose. Yesterday’s Guess This Gadget profiled a human skull adorned with jewels and helmeted by metal bars. If you had never seen this before and were able to pinpoint what it was, then you deserve a prize. I have sat back and watched the Console Wars go on for quite a long time. Not just the nextgen Console Wars but wars that erupted ever since there became more than one system on the scene. Fanboys and Fangirls might be offended by this article because I won’t be giving their specific system of choice the tender loving care it deserves. I could drag on for hours and hours about which system does what and weigh the checks and balances and formulate an opinion on what system you should buy based off of those findings but I’m not going to. What I’m going to do is try to open everyone’s eyes to something I discovered a long time ago. More »

From Ningin: Is the pen mightier than the sword? Or to be specific, are Mixr bloggers stronger than Mixr users when it comes to MLG matches? One way to find out is to pit them against each other in a 1-day MLG match this Saturday, Jan. 30. As team captain of the Mixr blogger team, it’ll be interesting to go against our very own users…with Hoc as team captain of the Mixr user team. More »

As I was walking out of the mail room yesterday, having just received my long awaited package, a friend of mine asks what I had gotten. I candidly replied that it was a Nintendo DS Lite. She rolled her eyes and replied, “Aren’t you a little old for video games?” Later that night, I thought about it. Can you ever be too old for video games? More »

After much hype in the past couple weeks over Apple’s “latest creation,” Apple has finally unveiled it’s latest product: the iPad. The unveiling today has confirmed the suspicions of many that Apple would be releasing their own “Tablet PC.” More »

We take a lot of things for granted. Sight, touch, smell, taste, and hearing. Ever wonder how a deaf person uses a phone? Well, they probably don’t, but that could very well change in the next couple years. More »

The Hong Kong International Airport is certainly pulling out all the stops. No surprises here, though, because the “赤鱲角機場,” as the locals call it, is ranked as one of the top airports in the world. More »

From Htcyou: By nprussell, VillainROM 1.2 is an Android 2.1 ROM with HTC Sense UI enabled for the Hero. HTC is not releasing a patched version of 2.0 until March, and there is no word on 2.1, so VillainROM 1.2 is the only way to experience Eclair 2.1 on your GSM Hero for now. CDMA versions (Sprint and Telus) are not supported. More »

Okay, I’ll just come right out and say it: I think that the Apple corporation is evil and is out to take over the world. There are many out there, however, who would beg to differ. One such “Apple freak” is 48 year old Xavier Yaffar who says he will buy whatever Apple is unveiling tomorrow no matter what. He excitedly states that “I don’t even have to look at it.” More »
