President Obamaa promised change while on the campaign trail and he certainly has brought a lot of it during his first year of presidency. The President recognizes that the internet and technology are valuable tools that have limitless possibilities to connect him with the rest of the nation. By utilizing online franchises such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, Obama’s administration is trying to make this the most “transparent” administration of all time.

During the interview with citizentube, the President answered questions that were submitted by actual citizens. These questions were then voted for online and the questions with the most votes were asked during the interview. Many of these questions were video questions submitted via YouTube.

The questions covered a wide range of topics, spanning from healthcare reform, to education, to national security. By making time to participate in such events, it seems like the President is really taking a genuine interest in the lives of everyday citizens in the United States and is making sure that the people know that their voices are being heard.

I now pose a question to you: How else do you think the President/government can utilize technology to connect to the nation?
