Super Bowl XLIV is fast approaching, and people are rushing to make the final preparations. Football players, party hosts, and, yes, the tech crew. “You think you and your wife have a struggle throwing a dinner party with 30 guests — making sure everything is where it’s supposed to be at the right time?” Jerry Hunter, a GPS coordinator for the game said. “Imagine the Super Bowl.”
Lights, camera, action! Now take that concept and multiply it by a couple hundred times. Teching for the Super Bowl is no laughing matter. CBS is bragging about its six new high-speed, high definition cameras that allow recording up to 400 frames per second. These cameras will be particularly helpful when making close calls.
Phone companies like AT&T are preparing for the inevitable onslaught of texts and calls that will be incoming and outgoing during the game. “Our network team has been working for months to deliver the best possible wireless experience for the games and their related activities.”
Post-game will also be a race, as websites from all over will be trying their hardest to attract viewers using uploaded Super Bowl ads.
So, who’s under more pressure? The players or the crew?
