It has long been known that solar flares from the sun can interfere with satellites and electronics that are on Earth. UK scientists are predicting that after a long period of low activity, the sun is about to wake up and become more active, possibly causing satellite navigation troubles.
The increased activity may interfere with GPS signals, causing small positioning errors and black outs. Scientists say, however, that it’s “more at the annoyance level than something that’s going to bankrupt your business.”
The sun is scary.
