With the increasing demand for wifi hotspot availability, cell phone users may soon be able to carry a hotspot with them wherever they carry their phone. Sagem Orga and Telefonica have joined forces to create the SIMFi.
SIMFi technology has integrated wifi technology which allows cell phone users to create a 3G hotspot that wireless devices can access. The embedded modem in the card requires no software installation and will work by simply placing the SIM card in the phone as you would normally do. No word has been given yet as to the retailing of these products, but it can be expected that major cell phone companies will be jumping on this really fast. Another thing to get charged for on your cell phone bill…great.
