Before there was video chat, how did long distance couples see each other? In the past, singles had to connect through friends, family, or social gatherings (mixers), but now, with internet dating and social networking, people can easily find each other. Long distance relationships are also possible for couples that are willing to travel regularly for meetings.


Internet Dating: scientific matchmaking with online dating allows singles to learn almost everything about a potential date before even hooking up. Most of these dating services really take the pressure off “blind” dates.


Social Networking: casual and friendly chatting with acquaintances on Facebook can lead to romance. With social networks like Facebook, people can gather references about a possible date before arranging a flirtatious liaison. Believe it or not, but apparently, couples that tweet together tend to stay together.


Telecommunications: long distance relationships can work much better when couples have iChat, Skype, and other video chatting programs.


Travel: so many methods of fast and relatively affordable travel are available these days that distant couples can still regularly make their amorous courtship possible.


Entertainment: few things in life can bring a couple closer together than an emotionally moving film. Gamers can also enjoy playing cooperatively/competitively like never before –either in person or online.
