Smartphones are not the only commodities being demoed at Mobile World Congress. Along with tablets, manufacturers like Acer are showing off netbooks: the 532G uses nVidia’s Ion 2 graphics, which is optimized for full 1080p HD video.

The nVidia Ion 2 chip can be switched off for power savings –this means that on the Aspire One 532G, there are two graphics processors, the second of which is a basic GMA3150, which is still a gargantuan upgrade over the GMA950 in many of yesterday’s netbooks. The 532G has an unimpressive Intel 1.66GHz N450 CPU, but it should be helped dramatically for graphics by the Ion 2.

- 10.1″ LED LCD
- Intel Atom 1.66GHz N450 CPU
- nVidia Ion 2, Intel GMA3150
- 2Gb RAM
- 320Gb Hard Drive
- WiFi, optional 3G
- Presumably HDMI output
- 10hrs Battery Life
- Windows 7 Home Premium
- Release by end of Q1
