Steve Jobs is a tricky, tricky man. As head of the Apple corporation, Steve Jobs has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with. With innovative products such as the iPod, the iPhone, and the MacBook, Jobs has revolutionized the pop culture of technology. Like I said, Jobs is a tricky man, and Wired has caught Jobs red-handed. Read on to see what Mr. Jobs says and what he does.
1. Seven years ago, Jobs was quoted as saying, “There are no plans to make a tablet… It turns out people want keyboards…. We look at the tablet, and we think it is going to fail.” Well, what do you know? LOOK! IT’S THE iPAD!
2. “We didn’t think we’d do well in the cellphone business. What we’ve done instead is we’ve written what we think is some of the best software in the world to start syncing information between devices. We believe that mode is what cellphones need to get to. We chose to do the iPod instead of a PDA.” Well that’s strange… My roommate definitely has an iPhone…
3. “It doesn’t matter how good or bad the product is, the fact is that people don’t read anymore… Forty percent of the people in the U.S. read one book or less last year. The whole conception is flawed at the top because people don’t read any more.” Huh, well, Mr. Jobs, if you haven’t noticed, the iPad is promoting its iBooks store pretty fiercely.
4. “I’m not convinced people want to watch movies on a tiny little screen.” Well, well. You were convinced, were you? I happen to know of a certain tiny screen that you can watch movies on… it’s called an iPod.
Looks like Mr. Jobs is a big fat liar! Just kidding. This post was just for fun. Obviously, the needs of the industry and consumers change, but it is fun to poke fun at Apple every once in awhile…
