Yesterday, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) granted Google permission to buy and resell wholesale energy. The branch of Google running this operation is called “Google Energy.”
Google says that, “We want to buy the highest quality, most affordable renewable energy wherever we can.” Although no word on entering the consumer market has been given, it is speculated that this is a very possible venture for the search-engine giant.
Google is quickly entering many different markets, with the latest being its plans to provide its own internet service. How far will Google go?
