A report from Media Memo, Hulu’s forthcoming application for the iPad may be a pay-per-view or some other form of paid service. If this is true, then Apple will have a tougher time trying to convince people that the iPad is a true multimedia tablet when it lacks Flash and Hulu.

Hulu’s iPad application could be a premium offering, which the YouTube rival is launching specifically for Apple’s device, or it might be a subscription package that is coming across its entire website. Since Hulu is free, the company, for sometime, has been working on charging for premium features.

If Hulu’s iPad app is simply a port of its current free content but with a subscription fee added, then Apple’s tablet is suddenly less enticing. However, if Hulu rolls out special features for the iPad that is inaccessible to non-paying viewers, then the bill is a bit easier to swallow.

What do I care though? I cannot even get Hulu here, and the iPad is not my cup of tea anyway.
