The Sony VAIO E Series notebooks are now available for pre-order at SonyStyle.com. This new line of mid-priced notebooks combines the sleek Sony design with the ever enticing option of color customization.
Starting at $699.99, the E Series is a great computer for those that are looking for something that works great and looks better. Both the color of the shell and the keyboard are customizable. The options are Coconut White, Gunmetal Black, Lava Black, Hibiscus Pink, Iridescent Blue, and Caribbean Green. Gunmetal Black is the default color, and it unfortunately costs an extra $50 to change to any other color. Keyboard skins cost $19.99 to change, but are currently on back-order.
Here are the specs of the E Series:
- 5.95 pounds
- 14.56″ x 1.22″ x 9.77″
- 15.5″ screen
- Intel Core i5-520M Processor (2.40GHz) or Intel Core i3 Processor
- Up to 500GB (7200rpm) HDD
- Up to 8GB DDR3 SDRAM
- 2.5 hour max battery life
Specs like these are great for everyday laptop users, and I’m sure the colors are a big attraction to many of the fashion-forward consumers that Sony has. The starting price is $699.99, but after customizing my own version, it came just shy of $1000. My advice? As always, start saving.
