“… loaded with applications and more online…” is what the advertisement for the Sony Ericsson Satio boasts while the image above is showing. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), however, is pulling a red card, labeling the advertisement as misleading.

Complaints came rolling in about the lack of a Facebook app on the phone. Users were disappointed that it was neither preloaded nor available for download. Sony Ericsson has since addressed the issue, fixing the software to allow a Facebook application to be downloaded, but many are still disgruntled.

“We noted that a software problem had initially prevented the application being available but this had now been rectified. However, because the ad implied the application was either preloaded on the phone or would be available to download, and because this was not the case at the time the ad was broadcast, we concluded the ad was misleading” said the ASA.

Sony seems to have gotten away with a slap on the wrist. Come on, Sony! Don’t disappoint me!
