Haleron’s iLet Mini HAL tablet could be a great bargain. It has a tempting price and decent specs, but with little information about the company that makes it and currently no reviews of the product, it is a $199 risk.
The iLet Mini HAL is ready to ship now from Haleron, which also has a budget Android smartphone named the Swordfish G5. Several other things about the HAL disturb me though: its VIA processor’s unknown performance, the low-resolution screen (which is actually fine for Android but not desirable for such a large display), and Android 1.6, which may never be upgraded. On the other hand, the HAL is only $199, has 2Gb NAND memory, and 800 x 480 is still much higher resolution than most Android smartphones.
