Not impressed by slower tablets like the iPad, which are not really computers? Toshiba’s M780 is an alternative to Lenovo’s tablet laptops and features Intel’s latest Core i3, i5, and i7 processors, all running Windows 7 Professional.

Toshiba was once the world’s biggest seller of laptops. The M780 series undercuts Lenovo’s X201 with an i5 at $1700. At these configurations, I would personally just go with the entry i3-330M, which is a very capable performer in its own right, but if you have the finances, then by all means, get the i7. In the coming months, when new tablets are released, the world should get a better idea of just how good Windows 7’s touchscreen user interface is. So far, it looks serviceable.
- i3-330M Processor $1399
- i5-520M processor $1699
- i7-620M processor $1799
- 12.1″ WXGA LED LCD - touchscreen
- Intel Integrated GPU
- DDR3 RAM
- DVD-Burner
- Windows 7 Professional with Windows XP
