Ironically titled, the €2001, Swarovski crystal studded netbook from Smartbook AG is not a “smart” buy for anyone with any sense. I believe that people can spend whatever they can afford, yet there is a point that no one should cross.
Netbooks were meant to be inexpensive and underpowered computers. This Smartbook is underpowered alright, with its sluggish Atom processor, 1024×600 screen, and generic hardware parts, but it is not inexpensive. I can understand a pimped out iPhone or Blackberry because spending more money than what these devices sell for does not buy you a better phone, but paying €2001 for this junk is just stupid when you can get a powerful Dell Adamo or a MacBook Air and have it diamond encrusted for a bit more.
I hope no one actually bought one of these because it would set humanity back another 3,000 years.
