MSI Wind and Mac OS X 10.6 lover “alexbates” over at Insanely Wind has merged his loves and created the tablet that most Apple faithfuls wished the iPad were…and for only $350.

Despite the disappointing 1.6GHz Atom processor, this tablet possesses many features that the iPad does not, including a webcam, VGA output, built-in USB ports and memory card readers, a large hard drive, 2Gb of RAM, and dual or even triple booting Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, and OS X. Since the MSI Wind is a Hackintosh darling, installing OS X on it is a breeze. Alexbates even has a customized UI for his touch-enabled version of Snow Leopard.
I appreciate these sorts of fanatical efforts and ingenuity, but how good is the touch panel on this mod, and how responsive is Snow Leopard when it is not programmed for touch? Nevertheless, alexbates deserves praise for brewing up what he personally wants in a tablet.
