Here is another entry in the long list of Android/ChromeOS netbooks that will bombard the market starting this summer. Google’s open source operating systems are enabling start-up companies like Mobinova to produce netbooks/tablets/phones since they do not have to spend much on software research and development or licensing.

The Beam is basic internet surfing machine that packs decent graphics performance, while being compact and, hopefully, light on the wallet. By now, I cannot see why anyone should pay over a few hundred dollars for a netbook/smartbook with a barely usable 1024×600 screen. The even worse news about the Beam is that it will not access Android Market; instead, Mobovina is hosting its own app store.
