Last week, the interwebz was replete with rumors that Google was or was planning on sharing Android operating system ad revenue with carriers and smartphone manufacturers. However, Google has contradicted these reports.

A Google spokesperson has told eWeek, “We share revenue on search, not on mobile applications. The same is true for non-Android devices that use Google as the default search engine.”

This puts an end to the speculation that Google was paying carriers like T-Mobile and manufacturers such as Motorola for ad views generated from apps running on their smartphones.
