Sony to Outsource Vaio Laptop Manufacturing »


God of War III, moving 1.1 million copies, was the highest profile release in March, and the PS3 exclusive game helped Sony’s system skyrocket 44% in sales during the month. After years of lagging behind the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii, the PS3 seems to be gaining more momentum, as it has increased sales for each of the past 8 consecutive months.

In spite of God of War III, NPD notes that Nintendo’s Wii remained the number one seller in America, tallying 557,500 (down 7%) to the PS3’s 313,900 and the Xbox 360’s 338,400 (up 2.5%).
