From Htcyou: Although no price has been given for Gigabyte’s Gsmart G1305, a safe assumption is that it is not going to be too expensive since its specs are entry level. Those looking to acquire their first Android smartphone may find this Gigabyte unit intriguing. More »

Not surprisingly, within a single day, Apple’s iPad has been jailbroken, not by Geohot this time, but courtesy of the other known iPhone hacker MuscleNerd, who has rooted the iPad. Having root access to the firmware enables programmers to tweak and modify the iPhone operating system, something that Apple does not want. Ironically, a jailbroken iPad should increase sales for Apple. More »

Gresso’s Grand Monaco Ceramic Red Cayman cell phone is lined in endangered alligator leather and is high in fashion but low in specs. The phone’s slick yet cramped laser-cut number-pad might break some dainty fingernails. More »

From Htcyou: Apple’s damning copyright infringement lawsuit against HTC has had no effect on its daily operations. While Apple is no stranger to litigation, regularly defending itself from lawsuits, this is the first time that a major American corporation has lodged legal complaints at HTC. Nevertheless, the Taiwanese company has not slowed down; on the contrary, it is busy launching benchmark Android 2.1 smartphones in Europe (Desire, Legend) and prepping American releases (Evo 4G, Incredible). It is hardly a secret that netbook profit margins are tiny compared to laptops, smartphones, and other electronics. While manufacturers have sold tens of millions of netbooks over the past few years, they have not seen the sort of monetary returns that these sales figures might indicate. 2010 is a laborious year to move 10-inch netbooks, as specs have increased substantially over last season, and sales have tumbled. Dell and HP are almost ready to pull out of the market entirely. More »

iSuppli is predicting Apple to move 7.1 million iPads by the conclusion of this year. On launch day, America stood still for the tablet, but does it have the staying power to capture the dollars of tens of millions of consumers, or are the 250,000+ who have bought it just the minority that have flocked early to snap up the hype? Forbes has a fun article that lists America’s top 25 companies, headed by Wal-Mart, which handed out a staggering $7.1 billion (34.2%) last year to the IRS. Many of these corporations paid the typical 25-40%, but others were able to slither out of defraying much, if any, taxes by the grace of federal deductions and international loopholes. God bless America! More »

From Girlybubble: When it comes to options for decorating my new Nintendo DS Lite, my head spins. Literally. There’s the deco option — deco is the Japanese word for decorating things with a glue gun. There’s also stickers, skins, charms and you can even swap the original stylus for something that’s cuter. Currently, I’m considering the deco option but of course, that involves a glue gun: More »

From Girlybubble: With Apple’s iPad being the current buzz word, it was only a matter of time before Hello Kitty would get her precious claws on it. And by ‘it,’ I mean, a Hello Kitty iPad case. We all saw this coming — if it’s popular, chances are Hello Kitty is on it. I’m not the biggest Apple fan, but looking at this iPad case makes me want to jump in on the iPad craze. More »

From Wirebot:

As much as I think the iPad is a lackluster gaming platform, and as much as I think it is terribly overpriced (what Apple product isn’t?), there is no denying the fact that if someone came up to me and said “Here, have an iPad” I would take it. Of course I want an iPad! Does that mean I think it is worth paying for? Absolutely not, but sometimes the hype just crawls inside you and eats away at your soul. More »
