Among the many slate handhelds that ARCHOS is putting out is the Windows 7 Starter Edition 9 Tablet. I predict that because of the 8.9″ 1024×600 resistive touchscreen, Intel ATOM Z515 1.2 GHz, and higher than entry iPad price, ARCHOS will toil in vain to move this thing. The 9 is basically a slower version of the possibly canceled HP Slate.

As if ubiquitous 1.66GHz ATOM processors were too speedy, ARCHOS decided to embed the lower-clocking Z515, which has hyper-threading. I would pass on the 9 and save my $550.
