In March, The Wallstreet Journal reported that Sony was developing a PSP Phone. MCV UK says that “a senior industry source” has told the website that Sony is likely to announce a PSP sequel, not a remake, at E3 next month.
MCV’s rationale for a PSP2 is widely known: the PSP is more than half a decade old, is being walloped by the DS in sales, and the PSP go is a disaster. However, with Sony’s Playstation Move and PS3 3D on the horizon, I cannot envision a PSP successor so soon, particularly if Sony is working on a PSP Phone that is separate from the PSP2.
