Back in the ’90s, controlling television meant ruling the world. Google owns the internet, so branching out to TV is logical. Google TV works with existing cable networks by way of Google TV televisions (Sony has signed on), Logitech’s Google TV Companion Box, and even Blu-Ray players.

Obviously, search is a prime feature of Google TV, which can be controlled by keyboard and mouse and by Android smartphones. Google TV’s operating system is based on Android 2.1 and packs Chrome (with Flash 10.1) as its web browser. In a nutshell, Google TV transforms television into an internet accessible medium. If you have been watching TV on your computer, then you have an idea of how Google TV is attempting to merge television and the internet, but instead of doing everything on your PC, users rely on their home theaters.
