Acer, the world’s second largest PC maker, is joining every other computer manufacturer in the market that the iPad has created. Acer’s slate is 7 inches, has a capacitive screen, and will run Google Android (sound choice).

In spite of pressure from Intel and Microsoft to use X86 processors and Windows 7, Acer is going with an operating system that is better suited for “always on” tablets. Acer has not divulged much else about the slate other than that it is scheduled for Q4 release. Knowing Acer, I suspect that prices will be competitive.
