iFixit works quickly. The iPad 3G model went on sale yesterday, and its guts have been spilled for viewing. CNN reports that 1,180,000 wireless-only iPad units have been sold, and that 330 people lined up outside of Apple’s 5th Avenue store to snap up the 3G version. More »

Although these $16 mini “hamburger” speakers are marketed for the iPad, they work with any device outputting audio through a 3.5mm jack. These active, powered monitors - emitting frequencies between 280Hz to 16KHz at 1.7 watts per channel - can be charged through the USB port of the iPad or any laptop/computer. Did I mention that they cost $16? Sure, they are not audiophile quality, but they cannot be worse than the speakers from laptops and the iPad! More »


From Htcyou: In another move that could be (erroneously) construed as anti-Apple, Adobe, as part of its Flash 10.1 for Android development promotion, will be giving its employees free Android 2.1 smartphones –presumably either the Nexus One or Motorola Droid. I would not anticipate that the Droid Incredible is the giveaway phone since it is nearly sold out at vendors, and Google loves to hand out its Nexus One like it is a Tic-Tac. More »
