Dell’s Streak 5″ smartphone tablet is going to launch on June 4th in the UK for free with £25 per month O2 contract or £35 per month with voice and unlimited data. Outright sale of the device is £429 ($621).

The Carphone Warehouse gets exclusive rights to retail the Streak, whose unlocked price matches the entry iPad’s. Previously, speculation had been that the Dell slate could sell for upwards of $1,000, but that was before the iPad’s scintillating success. $621 is a respectable amount for a smartphone with such an enormous screen, but for people with smaller pockets (literally), the 5-inch Streak might be out of the question.
