Malata’s SMB-A1011 10.1-Inch Android slate could be a winner because it possesses many magnificent traits: Android 2.1 Eclair, powerful NVIDIA Tegra 2 (Duo-Core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9) that destroys the iPad, HDMI output with 1080p support, and a capacitive touchscreen.
Malata wants to bring the tablet out in China by September, but no international release or price has been confirmed. Also, since it has a Tegra 2 and a capacitive screen, it will not be cheap, so the 1024×600 low-resolution display is disappointing, especially because the processor/graphics are strong enough to play full HD film. The always ebullient and entertaining Charbax believes that Malata could potentially sell its slate for under $400, but that figure may be too optimistic for a higher-end product.
