Long has been the wait for the hybrid 10.1″ Pixel Qi LCD that can transform itself from a conventional color display into an extraordinarily energy efficient (”80% less power”) e-ink mode like on e-readers for viewing text in extremely bright environments.

Pizel Qi can guarantee compatibility only with two models so far: the Samsung N130 and the Lenovo S10-2, but most 10.1-inch netbooks should be doable. However, at $275, the Pixel Qi stretches economical sense for most people since many netbooks sell for around that price. Those who love to DIY will likely tackle the project just for kicks.
