Woz was enthralled with his Google Nexus One when he purchased it, and although he still loves Android’s useful voice recognition, he thinks that its open source foundation (ironically) makes it too similar to Windows, an operating system that tries to do everything but staggers at doing anything well.

Apple’s closed method on its iOS 4 allows the company to control precisely what goes into it. The end product is therefore tighter and more refined. Woz goes onto to say perceptively that people should not “judge the products by how much they do,” but rather by how well they perform their primary tasks. I agree with Woz. It is true, for example, that the iPad has limitations on what it can do, but what it does properly is exceptional. Macs and Apple products simply “work.”

Woz’s iPhone love is hardly a shocker, since he is still an Apple shareholder and has close ties with the company that he helped establish, but his applause for the Nexus One when it was launched suggests that he at least tries willing to have a look at the other side. By contrast, Bill Gates has poured praise on the iPhone yet will never buy one. Bill, you need to be more open-minded…like Woz.

lol pretty nice of him - but having past ties makes it not that surprising that he would voice that he likes it
but haha if Bill got one - then it kind of ruins him trying to establish his company’s rival to the iPhone raspberry

i myself agree with what he said
Android is more open source like using an operating system
