The Kinect sensor by itself with Kinect Adventures game is going to cost what we have feared, $149.99 in November. Microsoft’s redesigned black Xbox “slim” will be released in a 4Gb capacity version in matte instead of glossy for $199.99 on August 3rd. Last of all, $299.99 buys gamers a Kinect bundle, along with the aforementioned Xbox console for $299.99.

I am pretty much convinced that the Kinect will fail, but that the Playstation Move will be moderately successful. The 4Gb version is a tad disappointing because a current Arcade Console is $50 cheaper, and players can simply use their flash drives for storage. However, the revised Xbox is quieter, runs cooler, and is theoretically more reliable. In my view, the only good part about today’s Microsoft press release is that the Kinect and Xbox 360 bundle, which arrives during the holidays is the same price as the PS3 Slim alone, but of course, Sony can always counter with a price cut.
