LG, the maker of the iPad’s LCD panel, is “considering production cuts” in August. Now on sale in 19 countries, Apple’s iPad has sold nearly 3.5 million.

All optimistic forecasts for the iPad have been surpassed. iSuppli believes Apple will ship 13 million of its tablet this year. LG may not be able to keep up with the program though. Before the iPad’s launch, Apple signed a $240 million deal with Samsung to supply future displays for the tablet. If you want an iPad, you might want to act quickly. This could be a repeat of the great 1855 potato famine.

whaT? would that mean due to the shortage of lcd its would become more expensive?
its soooo expensive already though?


I think they just have a lack of those certain displays for the iPad for just a short time, I’m pretty sure they’ll get those supplies as soon as possible back on stock again, because who does want to make less profit if more profit is possible.


O__O so does that mean they’ll make iPad less, since there is gonna be a production cost? hmm I am kinda confused.. so Samsung will take over in the future to make LCD panel.. I didn’t know Apple asked other companies to make their LCD panels.. I wonder what’s gonna happen in the future…
